- Redmond 7, Garfield 5 - Despite being outhit 11-8, the Mustangs squeaked out a 7-5 win over Garfield on Friday. Josh Bircher was 2-for-4 with 2 runs scored and 3 stolen bases, and junior T.J. Whidby worked three scoreless innings in relief to pick up the win. Jack Jajewksi and John Trupin had three hits each for the Bulldogs in a losing effort.
- Newport 5, Skyline 3 - Junior Cole Wiper struck out 5 Spartans in 5 scoreless innings and Newport broke a scoreless tie with a 3-run sixth inning as the Knights moved to 2-0 with a 5-3 win over Skyline. Senior shortstop Trace Tam Sing was 2-for-3 with a double and 2 RBI to pace the Newport offense. The Knights won despite committing 5 errors in the field. Anthony De Matteo was 3-for-4 with an RBI for Skyline, who dropped to 1-1 with the loss.
- Issaquah 15, Eastlake 4 - Spencer Rogers struck out 8 in six innings and was 4-for-5 with a double and 3 RBI as the Eagles completed a perfect week with a 15-4 win over the Wolves. Shane Yarnell chipped in three hits and 3 RBI, pacing the 17-hit Issaquah attack. The Eagles finished the week outscoring their opponents 31-6.
- Lake Washington 5, Roosevelt 2 - Three Kang pitchers combined on a one-hitter as LW improved to 2-0 with a 5-2 win over Roosevelt. Junior Wesley Russell allowed just one hit and 2 unearned runs while striking out 6 over five innings of work to pick up the win. Junior Bob Cruikshank was 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI, and also struck out the side in the seventh to earn his first save. The Kangs finished the week with a 0.00 ERA, allowing just 3 hits in 14 innings and punching out 13 hitters.
Week 2 is the first three game week for the conference, with a full slate of games scheduled for Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
