Bellevue 7, Sammamish 0 - Senior Nolan Watson struck out 14 Totems in a complete game shutout, as Bellevue opened league play with a 7-0 win over Sammamish. Watson threw just 89 pitches, allowing just two hits and a walk in his seven innings of work. The Wolverines were led offensively by junior Chandler Hawk, who had two hits, a double and two runs scored. Senior Reid Hartmann chipped in with 2 RBI.
Mount Si 9, Juanita 8 - Senior Joey Cotto's walk-off single in the bottom of the 7th propelled the Wildcats to a 9-8 win over Juanita. The Rebels had clawed back from a big deficit, scoring 2 runs in the sixth and four in the seventh to tie the game. However, the Wildcats would not be denied, with Cotto providing the game-winner. He finished the day 3-for-4, while junior Wyatt Baker-Jagla collected three hits as well. Tanner Simpson and Evan Johnson each had two RBI for Mt. Si. For the Rebels, senior outfielder Avery Britton was 2-for-3 with a home run and 4 RBI, while Lucas Van Heise was 3-for-5 in a losing effort.

Apologies and a Reduction in Coverage
First off, a quick apology to the loyal followers of the KingCo Baseball Blog. My time to write about KingCo high school baseball has been cut significantly due to a new job, more work in the world of baseball along with growing family responsibilities. I have neglected to get the blog updated and have been trying to find the time to get back going.
I hope to resume coverage of the league and will start with a post tonight or tomorrow recapping Monday's games. My time will be mostly focused on the KingCo 3A/2A league this season, but I will still post scores and write when I can about the 4A league. While I may not be able to post as often as I have in the past, I still hope to bring recognition to the kids in the leagues who are giving their all on the diamond.
Thanks for everyone who follows the blog. I look forward to resuming posting as often as I possibly can and keeping everyone informed on the happenings in the world of KingCo Baseball!
