Roosevelt 10 @ Ballard 0 - What started out as a close game ended up a lopsided affair as Roosevelt scored seven runs in the 7th to win 10-0. Jack Johnson and Simon Kerr each notched three hits for the Roughriders with Kerr driving in four. Roosevelt ace, Myles Gouveia, held the Beaver bats in check with a complete game effort, striking out 11.
Issaquah 4 @ Newport 5 - The Newport Knights found themselves in an early 4-0 hole thanks in part to a lead off homerun from Issaquah senior outfielder Derek Chapman. However, with some solid pitching and timely hitting from junior Todd Reese, the Knights battled back for the 5-4 win. Reese threw five solid innings and drove in two with a two out single. Newport sophomore Nick Rudholm tossed the final two innings earning his first varsity win.
Garfield 0 @ Skyline 4 - Behind 6 2/3 innings of strong pitching from their left-handed starter Sam Lawrence, the Skyline Spartans made an early 4-0 lead hold up. Cole Blackburn and Jason Santiago paced the offense with two hits apiece. The Bulldogs were kept in the game through a strong five innings pitched from Justin Arkillis-McLain.
Redmond 3 @ Inglemoor 6 - Redmond jumped out early to a 2-0 lead only to watch Inglemoor put up five runs in their half of the first. From there, Inglemoor's hard throwing ace, Curtis Bafus held the Redmond bats in check. He only gave up one more run, a solo shot to Mustang senior Lucas Eliason. For the Vikings, senior Adam Berreda had two hits and drove in two on singles in the first and second innings.
Bothell @ Woodinville - rained out ... rescheduled for Thursday, March 27 @ 7 pm - Woodinville High School.

Season
Outlook from the Desk of Coach Pudwill:
With returning
experience all around the diamond, the Mustangs are looking to bounce back from
last year’s performance. The majority of the pitching staff has varsity
experience which should help support a lineup that struggled to score runs last
year. Much will ride on how much the Redmond hitters have improved.

Outlook from the Desk of Coach Moedritzer:
Garfield returns a
strong senior class after making the playoffs for the first time in over 20
years. The infield will have some new faces in the mix, but the outfield and
catchers will look familiar. The defense and hitting have looked strong this
spring, with the pitching just starting to come around. The Bulldogs will be
competitive from the start to finish and should figure in the Kingco playoff
picture.

Outlook from the Desk of Coach Reese:
We have a lot of
pitching depth, returning 2 of the top 3 starters from last year including Ryan
Peart and Ty Gibson. Starting outfield also returns with 2 of the outfielders.
Have 8 returners back. Have a good mix of returners and solid newcomers.
Pitching and defense should be solid. Top 3 hitters also return. Should be a
solid club if we can get some offense from the bottom of the order.

We’ll field a fairly
young squad with only six seniors, but lots of experience with underclassmen
who played last season. All three
starters on the mound (Reese, Kingma and Block) are underclassmen with solid
futures ahead of them. Defense up the
middle and overall team speed are the strengths so far.
