Only two games were able to defy the weather gods on Friday, the Bothell-Eastlake and Redmond-Woodinville matchups. Both were low scoring, end of the wire affairs.
Bothell 2 @ Eastlake 1 - In a classic pitcher's duel, Eastlake's Mick Vorhof ended up the hard luck loser. The hard throwing Eastlake senior tossed eight innings, allowing two runs. Eastlake struck first in the third inning with a run off of Bothell's sophomore starter, Quinn Gleed. The Wolves would not score again despite six hits and three walks on the day. Bothell scratched across their runs in the 7th and 8th innings, thanks in large part to doubles from Sam McPherson and Andrew Staten and a game winning single from Daniel Fredrickson. Bothell goes to 2-0 in league play while Eastlake drops to 0-1.
Redmond 2 @ Woodinville 0 - Runs were hard to come by at the home of the Falcons as Redmond was the first and only to score on the day and their runs came in the top of the 7th. Woodinville's junior Conner White stymied the Mustangs through six innings until he allowed a leadoff hit in the 7th. From there, the Mustangs bunted their way to victory off the Woodinville reliever. With back to back bunts, Redmond scored two runs on the second bunt as the ball was thrown into left-field on an attempt to get the lead runner at third. That was enough as Mustang starter Kyle Francis tossed six shutout innings, striking out 11. Redmond is now 1-1 in league with Woodinville at 0-2.
